"What you are seeking is also seeking you." -- Clarissa Pinkola Estes

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Spirituality, community, peacemaking

Silent Unity
"Silent Unity is a worldwide prayer ministry that, for over 100 years, has been in continuous prayer with people of all faiths. Through times of war, peace, depression, and prosperity, the prayer vigil in Silent Unity’s chapel and the brightly shining beacon atop its cupola have continued uninterrupted."

Fellowship of Reconciliation
"The Fellowship of Reconciliation seeks to replace violence, war, racism, and economic injustice with nonviolence, peace, and justice. We are an interfaith organization committed to active nonviolence as a transforming way of life and as a means of radical change."

Heifer International
Since 1944, Heifer International has helped more than four million poor families in 125 countries become self-reliant through the gift of food- and income-producing animals and training in their care.

The Foundation for Community Encouragement
Founded in 1984 by a group of eleven people, including M. Scott Peck, author of The Different Drum and A World Waiting to Be Born, the FCE served as a catalyst for individuals, groups, and organizations seeking to communicate with authenticity, deal with difficult issues, welcome and affirm diversity, bridge differences with integrity, and relate to each other and the world around them with love and respect.

In 2002, the FCE passed on its mission to its constituents and ceased active operations. The website remains, however, and the activities of community building are ongoing. Those who are interested in current events within the Community-building effort may wish to consult the Community Crossroads site.

Community Crossroads
Community Crossroads is an information clearinghouse for the international community building effort as envisioned by M. Scott Peck in his books The Different Drum and A World Waiting to Be Born.

Artwell's Oracula
I love this site. I love the I Ching ("newwings"), and I love the shrines (expect to see some links to Artwell's shrines hereabouts real soon), and I've been a member of the commonwheal for quite a long time.

Freewill Astrology
Rob Brezsny is crazed, poetic, and genuinely insightful far too often. There's lots of good stuff to be found if you dig around at this site.

Morning Star Center
"Morning Star is an open, non-denominational spiritual community. Recognizing that we are all teachers and students on a spiritual path, we offer a spiritual forum with a unique speaker each Sunday."

Unity Church of Oklahoma City
Events calendar, articles, information about Unity.

Wellness in Norman
These guys had an interesting lecture series in the summer of 2002, but I haven't seen many updates to the site since then. I list it here because I live in hope.

Events at the Norman Barnes & Noble
Book discussion groups, readings, signings.

Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator

TypeLogic
A good summary of information about the Myers-Briggs types. Minimal commercial annoyance.

Dolphin Cove, the INFJ site
I'm an INFJ, so if you are also an INFJ, welcome! And if you're wondering what the heck is my deal, well you can probably get a clue or two here. Also a lot of general Myers-Briggs information and links to be found on this site.

What do you do with a drunken piper?

And she'll have fun, fun, fun 'till her daddy takes the pipers awaaaaaaayyyyy...

EJ Jones
The Piper. 'Nuff said.

Clandestine
They're baaaaaaaack.

Needfire
Young, free and Celtic.

Jiggernaut
"Neo-celtic groove-a-latious mondo-pop indulgence!" Honest to God. Highly recommended.

Computers, Web Design and Usability

eVolt.org
"Evolt.org is a world community for web developers, promoting the mutual free exchange of ideas, skills and experiences."

A List Apart
They're back! They've been away for a while, but they're back now. Happy to hear it -- there's a lot of good information here, even if they are a little CSS-happy. (Hey, I like CSS. I think CSS is very elegant. I use CSS as much as I can. But let's face it; a lot of CSS is still not implemented correctly in the browsers out there, and I want my pages to work more than I want them to be CSS-correct. 'kay?)

WebMonkey
The web developer's resource.

VisiBone Color Lab
Try out different web color combinations.

Hillman Curtis
Motion graphics master. My favorite piece is "Sky".

I've been told that I shouldn't call it "miscellaneous", but that's what it is

Things you should check out.

Austine Wood Comarow Polage
I saw this woman's art in a gallery in Cambria, California and I was bowled over. I can't describe it. You just have to go look.

The National Marrow Donor Program
I rant about this periodically. Imagine if you could LITERALLY save somebody's life, with relatively little risk to yourself. Imagine if you could give a terminally ill person back their health, give a family another chance with their mother, father, beloved child... How amazing would that be? This could be the most important website you'll ever visit. I'm not kidding. I'm not exagerrating. Don't put it off. If you're not already signed up with the marrow donor registry, go now to find out how to do it. Do it now. It's that important.

The NOAA Photo Library
Fabulous, beautiful pictures in the public domain from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Go. Look. See your tax dollars at work and be amazed.

The National Weather Service
I've had a lot of people tell me that they found this link useful. See that little "City, State" field in the upper left corner? Put a city and a state in there and click on "Go". Voila! An extended forecast! See the little radar image thumbnail to the lower right? Click there. Voila! Current radar image for said city. See the short-range and long-range "loop" links at the left? Click on one. Voila! Radar loop! Cool, huh?
